After high school in my birthplace, I studied chemistry at the University of Veszprém (Hungary). For the last three years I have been on the branch: Inorganic Chemistry, Silicate Chemistry and Technology. I did the practical part of my diploma thesis in Merseburg about a pigment for ceramic glazes. I sprayed the ceramic glazes, which contained the differently treated color bodies (color pigments), onto bisque (unglazed ceramic that was only fired once) tiles and fired them. In Merseburg I really realized what I would love to do most in life: connect science (chemistry) and art, paint with ceramic glazes on unglazed tiles, create works of art, experiment with the glazes and maybe even discover something new in the process.
I did my doctorate at the LMU in Munich with a scholarship (1993-1997). I have conducted experiments with clay minerals and studied their usability in landfills.
For as long as I can remember I have been painting in my spare time. First I painted with tempera colors (gouache), then I got into oil painting.
After a long detour (among other things, I worked in the chemistry department and gave tutoring in mathematics) I bought a kiln in 2015 to paint ceramic pictures with glazes. Working with ceramic glazes is very interesting and diverse. It is also astonishing that with their help there is still something new to invent….
On the 22nd of August 2024 an article was published in the "Tölzer Kurier" that describes my work well: Wissenschaftlich Kunst entwickelt
